Canadians can potentially claim tax credits for attending Wellspring Vancouver:
- Fitness tax credit up to $500. Details here.
You may be able to claim up to $500 per child for the feesthat relate to the cost of registering your or your spouse's or common-law partner’s child in a prescribed program of physical activity such as Wellspring Vancouver.
- Credit for Childcare Expenses up to $4000. Details here.
Childcare expenses are deductible from income where both spouses (or spouse, in the case of single parent families) are working or where one spouse is attending school for all or part of the tax year. Childcare expenses can include daycare fees, boarding school, hockey school or summer camp fees. If both spouses are working, the lower-income earner must claim the deductions. If the lower income earner is a full-time student, the deduction is available to the higher earner for the number of weeks the spouse attends school. The maximum you’re allowed to claim under the childcare deduction is $7,000 for each child under seven at the end of the year, and $4,000 for each child over seven and under 16. For children with disabilities, you can deduct up to $10,000 starting in year 2000. The deductions cannot exceed two-thirds of your earned income.
Refundable Fees
Since Wellspring provides so many different locations, start dates, and lengths of camp attendance, please view different tuition rates by clicking here.
Below are the fees associated with Wellspring Vancouver, both of which are fully refundable:
Family Workshop: $300 USD. Refunded in full if at least one family member attends Family Workshop.
Year-round Continuing Care Program: $600 USD. Refunded in full if camper successfully meets these criteria of the Continuing Care Program:
1. Camper completes 140 out of 180 days of self-monitoring at least 3 food items with fat and calories recorded per day, and
2. Parent or camper obtains a verified height and weight and provides this form back to Wellspring.
Note: Fees are IN ADDITION to camp tuition, but fully refundable if criteria are met. We follow this policy because research has demonstrated the importance of participation in the Family Workshop and compliance with the Continuing Care Program for continued weight loss after returning home. We happily refund these fees to families who elect to support their child in these ways.
